Santa Anastasia is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Pesa. It is located on the west coast of the island, within the region of Santa Anastasia. As of a 2015 estimate, the population of the city was 492,891. The larger Santa Anastasia metropolitan area consists of the City of Santa Anastasia and the surrounding region, bringing the population to 629,256, nearly one-third of the population.

The area of modern Santa Anastasia was first inhabited by native Pesans at the beginning of the island's civilization in prehistory. However, it wasn't organized into a city structure until the eleventh century when Pesa was colonized by the Kingdom of Titova. Santa Anastasia, named after the Lashardian Orthodox saint, quickly became one of the most important cities in the nation, overtaking the chief port city Port of Lashardia by the 1500s.

Santa Anastasia has special status in Pesa, and does not belong to an autonomous province, instead forming the capital region of Santa Anastasia, in addition to its surrounding suburbs. The city is separated into 3 districts, West Santa Anastasia, East Santa Anastasia, and South Santa Anastasia.
